Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame
Penny Kampf, Executive Director shares:
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, located at 401 S 3rd St., was established in 1997. The inaugural Class of Inductees were Woody Guthrie, Merle Haggard, Patti Page and Claude "Fiddler" Williams. The museum was established in 2006 and located in the historic Frisco Depot in Muskogee OK.

A new, state-of-the-art hands-on children's exhibit, called Jeremiah's Music Room, will soon open to the public. This project was made possible through community support, corporate and private fundraising, donations by the City of Muskogee Foundation, local businesses and with support from past inductees. 
Educational and Outreach Programs include:
Music Begins with a Song, Feb. 2, 2012, at 7:30 pm, will showcase the amazing song writing talent that Oklahoma offers. Host Greg Jacobs, along with three other songwriters, describe what inspires their music and they will perform their music. February's program features Jubal Lee Young, Don Morris and Kenny Cornel.
March 9, 2012, will feature Spring Street. More program details will be released soon.

Muskogee War Memorial. Due to last minute scheduling issues, the Muskogee War Memorial will need to postpone the Batfish Bootcamp scheduled for February 11. We are tenatively planning to reschedule this event for April 14. We are still taking reservations. Further updates to follow.

Muskogee Public Library events for February:
Wednesdays at 10:00am - Story time for preschool children, music and movement.
Thursday February 2nd 3:30-5:00p.m., Muskogee Public Library will host the first meeting of the Lego Club for kids from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Parents are welcome to stay and build something with their children.
The Third Thursday Book Club will meet at 7:00p.m.on February 16th at the Arrowhead Mall Food Court. The club will be discussing "The Joy Luck Club" by Amy Tan.
Tuesday, February 28th at 7:00p.m.-- Dr. Don Betz will kick off our Great Decisions program. Dr. Betz will speak on Middle East Realignment. Great Decisions is held on Tuesday nights at 7:00p.m. from February 28th through April 10th
